I just discovered your web site and was interested to see your findings on the Hughes
twt on 24GHz
I also have the 848 tube in a Hughes 1077 psu. Initially i measured it at 19W at 14GHz.
After modification of the voltages it gives 11W at 24G but needs around 75-100mw of drive
(not a problem as i have a 1.1W solid state pa!)
This result is fine as after i talked to WA7CJO at microwave update in september he only
gets an extra 3w out (ie ~14W) of his twt and he has more experience of modification.
I have yet to try input/output matching changes.
